Consultant/Artist/Design Team collaboration for the public art development and implementation of the 30 acre Buffer Park and the Avalon Corridor for the Wilmington Waterfront. The Public Art Plan, Concept Memorandum and Alternative Concept Plans Report summarizes, recommends and includes a mission statement for establishing a framework for conceptualizing and implementing public art in the Wilmington Waterfront. The Plan identifies art opportunities, cost estimates and makes recommendations taking into account a conceptually unified art program into the master plan landscape design. The plan recognizes the history of the area, the diversity of cultures and communities, globalization and the maritime connection. The Implementation Plan states the goals, organization, processes for review, funding, artist selection, review and coordination with the City of Los Angeles Cultural Affairs, Per Cent for Art Program and the Port’s Development Fee Program.
